TrIP Blog Day 2: Welcome to Lion Country by Jesse Bradley

Welcome To Lion Country
The position of parking spaces
point towards conception.
Downtown waits for the population
expansion, water tower wondering
whether Bay or Spielberg
might direct afternoon traffic today.
The brick and drywall within the mall
ask shoppers to forecast expiration dates.
Glass panes fawn over the fullness
of Friday and Saturday night, studying
the rubric of temporary sons and daughters.
Whether the backseat window fogs,
the water tower spills or sits, the pace
vacancy overtakes storefront to storefront,
the answer is always we are plaque;
we just refuse to accept it.
